Learn how to approve or reject any assets you don't need or want to use from users within the DAM
Pre-requisites: You must be an Administrator or have the Approve Assets permission enabled for your user group.
1. Access the Approve Tab:
In New MediaValet, select "Approve" on the left hand menu
In Classic MediaValet, select "Approve" on the menu located at the top of the screen
2. From the Approve tab, select the batch of assets you want to review and click Review Assets
3. Using the Select and Reject columns, choose whether to approve or reject each asset.
-
- You can preview assets in a larger format and review metadata by clicking the asset thumbnail.
- You can also watch full videos from this view.
4. When you've approved/rejected all submitted assets, click the Approve/Reject button to confirm the changes.
5. The original contributor will be notified of the approval/rejection of each asset.
What Happens When I Reject an Asset?
- A rejected asset can only be seen by its uploader and Administrators.
- A rejected asset will no longer show in Web Galleries and Branded Portals. The CDN links generated for a rejected asset will no longer be accessible.
- Once rejected, the asset will appear in the category with a rejected Icon on the image preview (New MediaValet) or a red dot at the bottom left corner (Classic MediaValet).
- Rejecting an asset even during the approval phase will not delete it from the library. If you want to delete a rejected asset, you will have to go to the category, select the asset and click on Actions > Delete. You'll see the following message: Warning: this will permanently delete the asset from the library.
-
Outside of the approval tab where you can approve or reject an asset, you can also reject an asset that is already in a category:
In New MediaValet:
Select your desired actions, click on the three dot menu at the bottom of the page > Reject Assets. Alternatively, if the assets are currently rejected, repeat the same steps but select Approve Assets.
Assets can also be individually approved/rejected from the asset panel
In Classic MediaValet:
selecting your desired asset and click on Actions > Reject Reversely, if an asset is currently rejected, select it and click on Actions > Approve
Notes:
- An expired asset is a rejected asset. When an Expiry Date set up for an asset lapses, the asset's status is automatically changed to Rejected
- When an asset expires, a notification is sent to the Administrators and Library Administrators (if the user has the system notifications enabled in their profile)
