How to send an asset for Approval or Collaboration on Slack

Learn how to start an approval or collaborate with others on Slack using the integration. 

1. From within MediaValet, navigate to an assets Detailed Info page. 

2. Select the three vertical dots menu and click Send to Slack.

3. If you choose Collaboration you will be able to send it to a Channel, send through a Direct Message or send to a Group.

  • If you choose Collaboration select who you would like to send, if necessary, add a message, once ready, click send 
    3. If you choose Collaboration you will be able to send it to a Channel, send through a Direct Message or send to a Group.
    • If you choose Approval you will be able to send it through a Direct Message.
      • If you choose Approval select the colleague you would like to send it to, if necessary, add a message, once ready, click send.

Collaborating on Slack

1. Once an asset has been shared to Slack, the recipient(s) will receive a notification containing the asset title, asset preview, the source link and message (if applicable)

2. The recipient(s) can start a conversation thread and share their feedback by clicking Start Conversation.

3. If the recipient would like to save the conversation back to MediaValet, click Send to MediaValet and the entire thread will be saved in the asset Comments tab.

Approving on Slack

1. Once an asset has been shared to Slack, the recipient will receive a notification containing the asset title, asset preview, the source link, and message (if applicable.) There will also be two buttons, giving the recipient the option to Approve or Reject the asset.

2. Approving the Asset

  • Click the Approve button to add a comment to the asset’s comments tab, stating that the asset has been approved.

    Note: This does not change the approval status of the asset in MediaValet.

3. Rejecting the Asset 

  • Click the Reject button to add comment to the asset’s comments tab, stating that the asset has been rejected.

    Note: This does not change the approval status of the asset in MediaValet.
