Can a user be part of more than one group?

Based on the way MediaValet's permissions are currently set up, users can only be assigned to one permission group at any given time.

As a result, there are times when a DAM Administrator may want to assign a user certain permissions for example, "Approver" permissions but not grant the user all Admin privileges.

In this case, we advise setting up a custom user group for the user that requires customized permissions. This can be easily set up by following the steps below.

Set Up Steps

1. Click on the Admin menu gear icon found in the top-right corner and select Groups from the drop-down menu.

2. Click on the Copy button found under the Actions column besides the user group whose permissions you wish to replicate for the new group being created.

3. Rename the group to something relevant to the user(s) that will be added to the new group being created. For example, Approvers+.

4. Check/Uncheck any custom permissions you wish to apply to the new custom group. For example, if you wish to allow the group all Approver permissions, ensure all the following permissions are selected.

5. Click the Add button found by scrolling down to the end of the pop-up window, once you are ready to create the new group.

6. All categories that the group being duplicated has access to will also be brought across to the new group being created.
