A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a geographically distributed group of servers working together to provide fast delivery of content. A CDN minimizes latency by caching content across distributed servers to reduce the physical distance between the server and each user.

With CDN Linking, MediaValet users can generate direct links or embed codes that can be inputted into various channels and platforms. This provides users with an easy way to create, update and deactivate links, ensuring that published assets are always current across a variety of channels. In addition, serving assets from MediaValet’s CDN allows end-users around the globe to view and access their assets with the lowest latency technically possible.

Pre-requisites:

  • The CDN feature must be enabled for your library. Please reach out to your MediaValet representative if you do not see the "Grab a Direct Link" option present in your library.

Generating a CDN Link:

There are a few ways to generate a CDN Link.

  • You can hover over the asset preview card: the </> logo on the home screen.

  • You can also go into the basic info/full screen page for an asset and click the three vertical dots and select Grab a link. This can also be done from the Detailed Info section of an asset.

A pop up then appears where you can use the original size image or change file format and size if you'd like. You can give the CDN link a unique name to hep keep track of where the link is being served.

com009.svgNote: You can generate any number of CDN links from one asset. You could then serve each link in a unique location like internal website, public facing website, or email campaigns. You can then track the engagement statistics for each unique link.

However, if an asset in MediaValet is checked out or set to rejected status, the CDN links to this asset will no longer work. You can search for assets in checked or rejected status using the MediaValet search filters. You can then select assets in bulk that have been rejected and set their status to approved if you wish.
