Marq deep linking makes it easy for Experience Portal administrators to make templated content available to users through the Experience Portal—without navigating through the MediaValet DAM first. This guide explains how to set up and use Marq deep links when MediaValet is configured as the identity provider (IdP) in Marq.
Important note: Marq deep linking does NOT use the typical Share links found on templates within your MediaValet DAM. Follow the steps laid out here to ensure Experience Portal users have the correct access to templates within Marq.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following is true:
- Your team intends users to create Marq templated content from within the Experience Portal instead of the DAM.
- MediaValet is configured as the identity provider for your Marq environment.
Step 1: Confirm MediaValet as the Identity Provider in Marq
Work with your Marq representative to verify that MediaValet is set up as the IdP.
This step ensures users authenticate with their MediaValet credentials before entering Marq.
In the event that your organization uses your own SAML Identity Provider directly in Marq, follow this guidance instead.
Step 2: Build the Marq Deep Link
Use the following URL structure to create a deep link:
https://app.marq.com/users/mediavaletLogin?returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.marq.com%2Fdocuments%2FeditNew%2Ftemplate-id
This becomes your reusable base link and can be used across your templates.
You will only need to replace the template-id with the specific ID for each template.
Step 3: Find the Template’s ID in Marq
- Open the desired template in the Marq Creator Studio.
- Only permissioned users will have access to the Marq Creator Studio. If access is needed, please speak to your Marq administrator.
- Copy the Template ID from the template details panel (the ID is underneath the preview of the asset on the right side in the example below – e.g. c66fbb00-f797-4f95-af4c-200d392d84f2)
This ID is the only part of the link that changes for each template.
Step 4: Create Template‑Specific Deep Links
- Insert the template’s unique ID into the reusable base link structure.
- Use the completed deep link anywhere in your Experience Portal.
Example deep link:
https://app.marq.com/users/mediavaletLogin?returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.marq.com%2Fdocuments%2FeditNew%2Fc66fbb00-f797-4f95-af4c-200d392d84f2
What Users Will Experience
- A user clicks a Marq deep link in the Experience Portal.
- If the user is not logged in, they will be prompted to sign in using their MediaValet credentials.
- After authentication, the user is taken directly into the Marq content editor (where they are already editing their own content copy of the template).
Notes
- Users don’t need to open MediaValet first or work on the template within MediaValet.
- Deep links can be reused across your sites; just swap out the template ID.
- Public users won't be able to access templates.
