This article covers how to use the MediaValet WordPress connector to insert assets via CDN links, so any updates made in your DAM are automatically reflected wherever those assets appear in WordPress.
Prerequisites
- The MediaValet WordPress plugin must be installed and enabled in your WordPress environment. If it is not installed, contact your MediaValet administrator or reach out to support@mediavalet.com to get the integration enabled.
- You must have an assigned MediaValet integration license seat. Your DAM administrator manages license assignments.
- Your MediaValet account must have the appropriate category permissions for the assets you want to use.
- Compatible with WordPress 6.x (Gutenberg and Classic editor). WordPress multisite is not supported.

the
steps
Add a MediaValet Asset to the Media Library
- In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Media > MediaValet CDN.
-
Click Select an Asset from MediaValet. If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to authenticate with your MediaValet credentials.
(Note, if you get this message: "You don't currently have access to this app. Please contact your account manager to purchase a subscription", your MediaValet Admin needs to add a seat for Wordpress for you in MediaValet).
-
Browse or search for the asset you want to insert. You can navigate categories, use collections, or use the search and advanced search features — the same as in your MediaValet DAM.
Note: The asset picker respects your MediaValet permissions. You will only see categories and assets your account is authorized to access.
-
Select your asset and click the + icon "Insert as CDN link" to proceed.
- Choose "Default" if you want to create a new CDN or select an existing CDN link for the asset.
- Optionally configure CDN transformation settings for your link— such as resizing or cropping for images, or resizing and format conversion for videos.
. -
Click Insert URL to add the asset to your WordPress media library then "Add to Media Library". The asset is now available in your WordPress media library. MediaValet metadata — including the asset title, alt text, and any expiry date — is automatically carried over.
Note: Assets are inserted as CDN links, not local file copies. This means they are dynamically connected to MediaValet — if the asset is updated in the DAM, it will automatically update everywhere it has been used on your WordPress site.
Use a MediaValet Asset in a Post or Page
- Open the post or page where you want to use the asset.
-
In the editor, add an Image or Video block and click Media Library.
-
Select your MediaValet asset from the media library, add details on the right if needed and click Select.
-
Save or publish your post.
Important to note: If you update/modify the file in MediaValet, the changes will also show in Wordpress since CDN links are dynamic by default. If you don't want the asset to update when updated on MediaValet, Select your file under Media Library and unselect the option "Serve dynamically from CDN (auto-updates)".
