Update a Version of an Asset in MediaValet

How to update a new version of an asset

1. Locate and select the asset you wish to update. In the asset details panel, click on the Edit icon (Pencil) and choose Update Asset.

2. In the Update Asset window, either browse for the file or drag and drop the updated version. It's best practice to update the title to reflect if you've changed the filename. To do this click the button at the bottom. You can also leave a comment if needed. Click Update to proceed.

3. A message will appear in the bottom-left corner, indicating the progress and confirming the successful update.

4. Refresh your browser to view the updated version of the asset.

How to revert to a previous version

1. In the asset details panel, navigate to the Versions tab. All previous versions of the asset will be listed there.

2. Click the ellipsis menu next to the desired version and select Make Current Version.

3. A success message will appear in the bottom-left corner. Refresh the page to view the reverted asset version.

Notes

Locking Assets Before Updating:

You may lock the asset before performing any version updates. This prevents the asset from being shared or downloaded while it is being updated.

1. To lock an asset, click the Edit button in the asset panel and select Lock Asset.

2. A Lock Asset dialog box will appear, informing you if the asset is associated with any branded portals or CDN links. Once you click Lock, a lock icon will appear next to the asset title.

3. Once the update is complete, the asset will automatically unlock. You can also manually unlock it by going to Edit > Unlock Asset.
