This article shows you how to map custom attributes from your MediaValet library to monday.com board columns, so key metadata like expiry dates, campaign names, or copyright information stays in sync.
To start mapping attributes, open the Item View in monday.com and click on the hamburger menu (the three dots in the corner). From there, choose Attributes Mapping.
2. For each attribute you want to map, select the arrow to open the dropdown menu. Select the matching monday.com column to link it to.
Please refer to this chart when mapping attributes:
| Attribute Types in DAM | Corresponding Column Types in monday.com |
| In the DAM: Boolean type attribute (ex: Yes/No) | In monday.com: Checkbox type column |
| In the DAM: Multi-select attributes (ex: List) | In monday.com: Dropdown type column |
| In the DAM: Single-select attributes (ex: Unique ID) | In monday.com: Status type column |
| In the DAM: Date attributes (ex: Expiry Dates) | In monday.com: Date type column |
Note: A custom added column may never use the title "Name," "Person," "Status," or "Date," as attribute mapping may not function as expected. Furthermore, two columns should not have identical names.
3. You can repeat this process for as many attributes as you need, ensuring that all important information stays visible in your board. When you’re finished, click Save.
Note: An asterisk (*) next to the attribute indicates that it is a required field and will not save until the field has been populated with a selection.
A success message will appear, letting you know that your attribute mappings have been successfully applied.
