Overview
The Experience Portals tab in the Reports section your DAM gives you a high-level view of how visitors are engaging with your site. Use it to monitor traffic, track downloads, understand search behavior, and identify your most active users — all within a customizable date range.
Where to find it: In the DAM, navigate to Reports and select the Experience Portals tab.
Note: Experience Portal reporting must be enabled by the MediaValet team. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you do not see this tab.
The Dashboard
When you open the Experience Portals reporting tab, you land on the Overview dashboard. This gives you an at-a-glance summary of engagement across all your portals for the selected date range.
Filters
Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow your results:
- Date range — Set a From and To date to define the reporting period.
- Role — Filter by user role: Admin, Editor, or User.
- User Group — Filter results by a specific user group.
KPI Tiles

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Who can view the Reports section — is it available to all users or just admins?
Users in the Administrator, Library Administrator, or User Administrator groups have access to the Reports section of the DAM and any custom groups who have the "Generate Reports" permission enabled.
-
Does "Users" only count people who logged in, or anyone who visited a portal? (i.e. Public visitors)
Every user interaction — whether they're logged in or not — generates an event in our system. Page Views count all events, even those involving anonymous (i.e. public) users. Unique logins, however, only count credentialed users.
-
Does this reporting combine all my Experience Portals or include data from just one?
At the moment, Reporting isn't enabled for multiple Experience Portals. We anticipate this functionality to arrive in Q3 2026.
-
Can I see which assets were shared from a portal (rather than just downloaded)?
Not at this time.
-
Is there a way to track how long someone spent on a portal page?
Not at this time.
-
Can I schedule or automate report exports, or does someone have to do it manually each time?
At this time, report exports must be created manually.
-
There's a spike in my Usage Trends chart — can I see who caused it?
You can click into the Users report and sort Top Viewers by page views for the relevant date range, which would surface the most active users in that period.
-
What's the difference between Page Views and Unique Page Views?
Page Views is the total number of times any portal page was viewed in the date range — by anyone, including anonymous public visitors who aren't logged in. Unique Page Views narrows this down by recording only the highest single-session view count per IP address, which reduces the impact of repeat visits from the same location.
-
What's the difference between Total Logins and Unique Logins?
Total Logins counts every individual login event in the date range — so if the same user logs in five times, that's five. Unique Logins counts only the distinct users who logged in and performed at least one action, regardless of how many times they logged in.
-
Why does my Active Users count look different from my Total Logins count?
These measure different things. Active Users counts every unique user who performed any tracked event — page views, downloads, searches, etc. — whether or not they explicitly logged in. Total Logins only counts login events. A user who was already logged in and browsed your portal would appear in Active Users but not in Total Logins for that period.
-
Why do my Page Views and Unique Page Views numbers look so similar?
If the two numbers are close, it most likely means the majority of your visitors are viewing pages only once per session. It can also indicate that most of your portal traffic is coming from logged-in users rather than anonymous visitors browsing repeatedly.
