With the MediaValet integration for Asana, you can search, preview, and insert approved assets from your MediaValet library directly into Asana tasks — without leaving Asana or manually downloading and re-uploading files.
Before you start
- The MediaValet Asana integration must be enabled for your organization. If you don't see MediaValet as an option inside Asana, contact your customer success Manager or MediaValet Support to have it activated.
- You'll need a MediaValet account with permission to view the assets/category you want to insert.
- Works with both free and premium Asana licenses.
Steps to insert an asset

Open the task in Asana where you want to add the asset.

In the task panel, locate the task you want to insert your assets into. For example, Pull/import files from MediaValet(manual).
- Click MediaValet to open the asset browser panel.

Sign in to your MediaValet account if you're not already connected.

Search or browse for the asset you need by selecting Categories under, "Select Categories for your Assets."
- Use the search bar to find assets by file name, tag, or metadata.
- Or browse by category/collection to locate approved, on-brand assets.
- Click an asset thumbnail to preview it and confirm it's the right file/version.
- Select the asset and click Insert (or Attach) to add it to the task.
- The asset appears as an attachment on the task, along with key metadata (such as file name and asset link), so teammates can open it directly in MediaValet if they need the full-resolution file or additional details.
Notes
- Inserting an asset this way keeps a live link back to MediaValet, so if the asset is updated or replaced in the library, your team is less likely to be working from an outdated file.
- You can insert multiple assets into the same task by repeating steps 5–7.
- Only assets you have permission to view in MediaValet will appear in the browser panel — your existing DAM permissions carry over automatically.
