How to Upload Assets from monday.com Back to MediaValet

Follow these steps to upload assets stored in monday.com back into MediaValet, so both systems remain connected and up to date.

Before we begin, it's important to understand the Item View screen:

Location column

  • In this item = asset is stored in a monday.com board in the particular item
  • MediaValet = asset is stored in MediaValet

Status types:

  • Not Connected: The asset is stored in monday.com, but has not been uploaded to MediaValet.
  • Connected: The asset exists in both monday.com and MediaValet, with the same version.
  • Update Available: A newer version of the asset or the file name has changed and is available on either monday.com or MediaValet.
  • Outdated: The asset in monday.com has been superceded by a new asset version that was inserted from MediaValet. Due to monday.com limitations in versioning via API, this status remains as a history record.

Uploading assets back into MediaValet

  1. To upload assets back into MediaValet, begin by selecting one or more items.

Keep in mind that all selected assets need to share the same status. Only "Not Connected" assets can be uploaded in bulk. "Update Available" assets can be uploaded individually.

Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll notice an Upload (back to MediaValet) at the bottom of the Item View.

  2. Clicking this button will prompt you to choose one or more MediaValet categories where the assets should be stored. You can also create new categories at this time, with a “+” icon that will appear when you hover over a category. Once you are done choosing your categories, click "Apply."
